A recent charity ball hockey game between local Huron County OPP officers and students at Central Huron Secondary School raised funds for a local food bank.
The game was held on April 27 at the Eastlink Arena in Clinton and was well attended. After three entertaining periods, the Huron OPP are claiming victory in the release, but the real winners were the Huron County Food Bank, who received a load of non-perishable food items which were collected from the students and officers.
“It was a great game with lots of fantastic plays from both teams. Anytime we can interact with our local youth in a fun way, it’s very positive for both. The community support was excellent with people of all ages in the stands. No major injuries were reported, and everyone had fun for a great local cause. Thanks again to everyone that came out on Thursday to support the teams and donate to the food bank.” said Constable Craig Soldan of the Huron OPP.
