The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation and Exeter Lions Club Dinner raised $50,000 at this year’s dinner and auction.
It was the first in-person event in three years. The fundraiser was cancelled in 2020 and was a virtual event for the next two years. Publicity Committee member Tim Cumming says almost 350 people attended the event earlier this month.
The Conservation Foundation supports projects such as commemorative woods, accessible trails and facilities, nature areas and conservation lands and conservation education opportunities for local young people.
In addition to the more than $50,000 that was raised, more than $6,000 in generous individual donations were raised for the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides.
