A transit feasibility study will help Bruce County determine what type of transit system will meet the needs of the community.
Planning staff reported to Bruce County’s planning committee on April 20 that they are considering the best method of gathering feedback on possible alternatives.
They’ll start with a survey in late April or early May on what the system might look like, and what local riders would like to see.
A second public input session at a later date will gather comments on possible transit proposals.
The County budget set aside $100,000 for the project, with another $50,000 received from Industry Canada through the Public Transit Program’s Rural Transit Solution Fund
The study will explore alternate options to improve transit service efficiency, while looking for economy of scale or shared services among local communities and working with other agencies.
