Hanover Holds At Home, Series Tied At 1

The Hanover Barons rebounded in Game 2 of the PJHL Pollock Division Final with a 3-1 win over the Mount Forest Patriots.

That ties the series at one.

The Barons opened the scoring at 14:54 of the first when Curtis Arnold potted one during a scramble in front of the Patriots’ net.

Midway through the second, Mount Forest responded on the power play as Austin Griffin wired a shot over the shoulder of netminder Riley McCabe.

But Hanover scored on a power play early in the third to take the lead. Arnold scored his second of the game and fourth of the playoffs with a laser of his own. The Barons would score an empty net goal late in the third, shorthanded, to seal the win.

Through the third period, tight checking in the neutral zone by both sides limited chances.

McCabe stopped 27 shots for Hanover while Vance Meyer stopped 24 shots.

Attendance for the game peaked at just over 1,000 fans.

Game 3 of the series goes Sunday at 7 p.m. in Mount Forest. CKNX AM 920 will broadcast the game.
