Kitchener teen charged with credit card theft from Fergus

Wellington County OPP have charged a 17-year-old in connection with credit card thefts from vehicles in Fergus that took place in December.

Police say on December 9, two vehicles in the area were broken into and credit cards and personal identification were stolen. One of the credit cards was then used to make a purchase at a business in Guelph.

Officers were able to obtain surveillance footage of a person of interest and a vehicle suspected to be involved with this occurrence.

As a result of the investigation, the 17-year-old of Kitchener faces charges including theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, and theft of a credit card.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
