Be sure to keep your umbrella nearby this week, as more rain is expected to fall across parts of the region beginning Monday evening.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement late Monday afternoon calling for significant rainfall in areas such as London-Middlesex, Oxford County, and Sarnia-Lambton.
The weather agency stated rainfall amounts between 15 to 30 millimetres is expected with this system before it tapers off Tuesday.
“Most areas will receive 15 to 25 mm by the time the rain tapers off Tuesday morning,” read a statement from Environment Canada. “A few locally higher amounts near 30 mm are possible.”
The increased amount of precipitation may lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas. More information about flooding can be found on the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority’s website.
