Huron Perth Public Health is looking for a dog involved in a recent scratching incident in Mitchell.
On March 28, a child was scratched by a dog at the dog park on Wellington Street in Mitchell around 5:30 p.m. The dog is described as a purebred Burnese mountain dog, black, white and brown in colour and not yet fully grown. The dog was being walked by a female who stated she was watching the dog for a sibling.
HPPH officials want to confirm the dog is up-to-date on its rabies vaccinations. If the dog isn’t, the victim of the scratch may need a series of rabies shots as a precaution.
If you are the owner, or have any information about this dog, please contact Huron Perth Public Health at 1-888-221-2133 ext 3670.
