Massive plan would see Collingwood Grain Terminals transformed

A huge plan to upgrade a former grain terminal in Collingwood was presented to council on Monday, March 27.

Streetcar Developments Inc. President Les Mallins says his plan for the former Collingwood Grain Terminals is a $200-million vision that includes a hotel, condominiums, restaurants and event spaces.

The plans presented include a 10-floor hotel out of the grain silos portion of the building, with a ground floor plan that includes restaurants and cafes, as well as an activity rental shop.

Collingwood is expected to take until mid-2025 before planning approvals are finalized for the massive project, with an estimated date of completion in 2028.

The town says it is planning further public consultation on the plans, but have yet to sign a memorandum of understanding.
