Aylmer police are looking to speak with anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the hours before a newly built home went up in flames last week.
The $1.1 million fire broke out at a red brick house on Aspen Parkway just after 2:30 a.m. Friday. The blaze was extinguished without incident and was quickly deemed suspicious.
Construction of the home had just recently been completed, but no one had moved in yet, police said.
Based on evidence at the scene, it is believed at least one person behind the fire suffered serious burns, police previously said.
Police, along with members of the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office and the Ontario Provincial Police forensic identification unit, continued to process the scene over the weekend.
On Monday, investigators appealed to anyone who may have seen any vehicles in the area between midnight and 2 a.m. last Friday to call them at 519-773-3144 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
