NORMA KEMPERS
Norma Lillian Kempers (née Shaw) of Bruce Township passed away peacefully at Huron Shores Hospice, Tiverton, on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the age of 79.
Beloved wife of the late John Kempers (2015).
Loving mother of Les, Blair, Roger, and Linda.
Cherished nana of Hillary, Charlie, Niamh, and John.
Predeceased by her parents, Wilbert Russell Shaw and Edna (née Holman), and sisters, Evelyn and Doris, and their husbands, Sinc Nevils and Stuart Lee.
Sadly missed by her daughters-in-law Trudy, Heather, and Maeve, and Les’ partner Deidre.
Lovingly remembered by her extended family, neighbours, and many friends.
Norma spent her childhood between Toronto and North Bay. She worked as a legal secretary and spent her early adulthood between Toronto and Barrie. After marrying John, she began raising and milking Holsteins at Lot 10, Concession 10 of Bruce Township. Norma was natural farmer and continued to manage her farm until her final days.
Norma was big-hearted, generous, and compassionate. There was always room at her table, and she never hesitated to share what was hers with someone in need. She was a volunteer for the Women’s House and Children’s Aid Society. For many years, she coordinated the annual Kincardine Superwalk for the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario.
Norma was a pillar of the Christian faith and served the Lord faithfully. She was a Deacon of Kincardine Baptist Church and her unwavering belief in God helped her through John’s battle with Parkinson’s and her own illnesses. She lived a life that glorified God.
A graveside service to honour Norma’s life will be held at Port Bruce Cemetery in August. Details will be published when finalized.
Memorial donations can be made to the Arthritis Society and the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario as expressions of sympathy.
