Londoners won’t have to wait much longer for the return of Zellers.
Hudson’s Bay Company, which owns the Canadian discount department store, announced Tuesday the first of its locations, including the outlet in White Oaks Mall, will open on March 23.
The London store, which will be located within Hudson’s Bay, will be between 8,000 to 10,000 square feet. It is one of only nine Zellers locations opening in Ontario. The others will be Cambridge, Burlington, Mississauga, Kingston, Ottawa, Scarborough, and St. Catharines.
“Reflecting a product assortment built on three pillars – quality, design, and value – customers will be served across key lifestyle categories, including kitchen and bath, accent furniture and home decor, organisation and storage, baby and kids toys and apparel, pets, and apparel basics for men and women,” the retailer said in a statement.
The Zellers Diner on Wheels will be visiting each of the locations in the days following the official opening. It will offer five classic menu items from the old in-store restaurants.
Zellers.ca, the store’s first-ever fully integrated e-commerce platform, will also go live on March 23.
At its height, there were 350 Zellers stores in Canada. They were all shuttered by 2013.
