This year’s Is the Coast Clear Conference will be a very special event for the Lake Huron Coastal Centre.
Coastal Stewardship Technician Alyssa Bourassa says it will be their first in-person conference in five years and it will also mark the Centre’s 25th anniversary. Bourassa says the Conference is the biggest fund-raiser for the Coastal Centre.
“So supporting it helps us deliver programs like our Coastal Conservation Youth Corp., which is our student education program, our Green Ribbon Champion, which is our dune restoration program and our Coast Watcher Community Science Data Collection program,” Bourassa shared.
Bourassa adds they’re also looking for more speakers for the conference. She says they’re looking for people who work on Lake Huron to share what they’re doing and what they’re finding. Bourassa says the conference is a one-day event on Friday, May 5, at the Oakwood Resort in Grand Bend. More information about the conference can be found at the Lake Huron Coastal Centre web site.
