Obituary – Doug Bock

DOUG BOCK

Douglas Franklin Bock, of Kincardine, passed away at his home in Beverly Hills, Florida on Nov. 13, 2022, in his 83rd year.
Doug is survived by his wife Sandra, his two sons Steven (Nancy) Bock and David (Kelly) Bock and six grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Lauraine (Husk; deceased Oct 1, 2017); sister Joan Jessup; parents Frank and Edith (née Baker) Bock and step-mother Winifred (née Crosier) Bock.
Doug was born and raised in Kincardine. He met Lauraine on a blind date, and they were married in 1962. Doug was active in the Kinsmen Club, Masonic Lodge and classic car club and had a life-long passion for classic cars and motorcycles. His other hobbies included photography, boating and home improvement.
Doug’s 31-year career with the Province of Ontario property assessment program started in 1964 when he was hired as a Property Assessor for the Town of Kincardine. His career included postings in Goderich, Pembroke and Brantford before returning to the area as Regional Assessment Commissioner, Bruce and Grey Counties in Owen Sound. Doug’s success as a leader was rooted in treating everyone with honesty, integrity and dignity.
In retirement, Doug and Lauraine enjoyed travelling across Canada and the USA, spending time with their extended family and winters at their home in Florida.
Plans for a future celebration of life memorial service in Kincardine will be forthcoming in the spring.
Memorial donations to the Diabetes Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
