Federal funds aid efforts to plug orphan wells

There are tens of thousands of abandoned wells throughout the Great Lakes region. Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania have each received a $25 million grant from the federal government through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to plug orphan wells.
