Saugeen Shores Police are reminding residents to be on the lookout for “porch pirates”, as more thefts are being reported.
Officers are providing tips to help prevent these crimes.
-Consider installing a doorbell camera or small CCTV system at the front of your house
-Leave a storage container at the front of your house for packages to be put inside
-Leave specific instructions for your delivery
-Consider talking with neighbours and make a plan to take each other’s packages if the other isn’t home
-Purchase insurance just incase
Police are also warning these pirates that once you are found, you will be charged accordingly.
