After nearly two years of operation, Middlesex County’s mass vaccination clinic in Mt. Brydges is closing its doors.
Last month, the Middlesex London Health Unit (MLHU) announced the clinic at the Caradoc Community Centre would be closing its doors permanently on December 14. The clinic first opened on February 18, 2021, and was the second location in the region to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to residents.
“We are very pleased to be able to return the Caradoc Community Centre to the Strathroy-Caradoc and Middlesex County community, who have been so supportive of the vaccination efforts that have been undertaken there for almost 22 months,” said Mary Lou Albanese, the MLHU’s director of environmental health and infectious disease.
Over 424 clinic days, the team at the Middlesex County clinic provided 111,786 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The clinic will remain open for its last day between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday for those interested in receiving primary or booster doses of the vaccine.
Following its closure, residents will still be able to receive vaccines at several locations in the area, including the mass vaccination clinic at the Western Fair. The mobile clinic at Westmount Mall is also open. However, it too, is closing come December 30.
Some other clinics will also run throughout the remainder of the year. A mobile clinic at the Crouch branch of the London Public Library on 550 Hamilton Road will be open until 7 p.m. Tuesday. The GO-VAXX bus is also holding clinics this month. The bus will be at the Thorndale Lions Community Centre on Wednesday and will travel to The Flight Exec Centre in Dorchester on December 22. Both GO-VAXX clinics will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
More information about the region’s vaccination clinics, including mobile clinic dates and hours, can be found on the health unit’s website.
