Bluewater schools will close if CUPE employees strike Monday

The Bluewater District School Board will close schools Monday if there is a full withdrawal of services by the the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

CUPE members at the board include custodians and maintenance workers.

If members do not have a collective agreement with the province by November 21, then all elementary and secondary students would move to remote learning on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. That time will help teacher transition to remote learning.

Extra-curricular activities, before and after school programs, and all rental permits for community events and activities in schools would be cancelled.

Dual credit and co-operative education programs for secondary students would continue during this period.
