Man stabbed after trying to stop pair from breaking into his vehicle

London police have laid charges after a man, who tried to stop two people he claims had broken into his vehicle, was stabbed over the weekend.

According to police, at around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, the owner was awoken by the sound of glass breaking outside his home in the area of Clarence and South streets. When he looked outside, he saw two suspects inside his vehicle.

Police say the three men started a brawl when the owner attempted to stop one of the suspects. The victim was reportedly stabbed by one of the men. Afterwards, both suspects took off.

Officers responded to the scene, and one of the suspects was arrested close by. The second was also found nearby with help from the LPS Canine Unit. The two were taken into custody without incident.

The owner’s injuries were deemed non-life threatening.

As a result, two men, ages 20 and 22, both of London, are jointly charged with robbery. The 20-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on December 22, while the 22-year-old is set to go before a judge Tuesday.
