The Avon Maitland District School Board will host a job fair later this month at the Listowel District Secondary School.
Recruitment and Retention Officer Hannah Carr says the Career Fair is specifically for support staff positions, including educational assistants, early childhood educators, secretary and office administration staff, as well as technical resource assistants and custodians.
Carr says the hope is that an in-person job fair might attract some people who might not be comfortable logging into a computer and applying, but would feel more comfortable with an in-person meeting.
Carr says they’re currently recruiting for casual call-ins, however any of those employment opportunities can lead to long term assignments and permanent employment, which would also offer a full pension with OMERS as well as health and dental benefits.
The Job Fair will be held on Thursday, October 27 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Listowel District Secondary School at 155 Maitland Ave in Listowel.
