A public meeting has been scheduled to inform residents on plans to replace the Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton.
A release on the Bruce County website states that the county is planning to replace the bridge which spans the Saugeen River along Bruce Road 4 in Walkerton.
“Recent inspections of the structure have identified deterioration with a number of bridge components. The County is considering alternatives associated with the new bridge design as well as detour alternatives to allow traffic to detour around the site during construction of the new crossing,” the release says.
A public information session on the status of the project has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 4 at the Walkerton Community Centre, with an open house from 6 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. with a presentation at 6:30. Following the meeting, public input regarding the replacement of the Durham Street Bridge will be accepted until November 4.
