What’s open, closed in London this Labour Day

With sunshine and the temperature forecast to be in the upper 20s, Labour Day Monday promises to be a perfect day for Londoners hoping to drink up the last of summer before heading back to school and work routines.

The City of London will have its spray pads open at Medway Park, Riverbend Park, Ivey Park, Gibbons Park, Southeast Optimist Park, Ed Blake Park, Meadowgate Park, Oakridge Park, and Constitution Park. In fact, those water fun zones will remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily until September 25.

Both the Thames Valley Golf Course and Fanshawe Golf Course will be open. Tee times can be booked online.

After a two year pandemic pause, the London and District Labour Council Labour Day event in Springbank Park will be back. The free, family friendly event, which celebrates the labour union movement, will run from noon until 4 p.m. The day will include children’s activities such as games, face painting, glitter tattoos, and a magic show. There will also be live music and free food and beverages. This is the first time since 2019 the event has been held in-person. COVID-19 forced it online in 2020 and 2021.
