Heat warnings continue to blanket southern Ontario

Much of southern Ontario continues to swelter under heat warnings issued by Environment Canada for this weekend., including Huron, Perth, Grey, Bruce, and parts of Wellington counties.

The weather agency says maximum temperatures today are expected to be in the high thirties or low forties with humidex.

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

It says minimum temperatures of the two-day heat event will be in the low twenties, bringing little relief.

Cooler temperatures are forecast for Monday.
