KLAAS ZONDERVAN
Klaas Zondervan, of Tiverton, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 75.
Beloved husband of Linda Zondervan (née Robinson).
Loving father of Tony Zondervan (Cindy), Darren Zondervan (Lorri) and Mike Zondervan (Mary).
Proud Pops of Abigail, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Hayden, Avery and Keenan.
Remembered by his brothers Peter (Gail), Bob (Betty) and Ronnie and sister Magdeline.
Predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Beatrice Zondervan, brother Ype, sister-in-law Ora and brother-in-law Gary.
Klaas’ life at the farm on Concession 11 and as a worker at the Armow landfill connected him to many people. He will be fondly remembered by all those who knew him, friends and family.
To those who gave of themselves to care for Klaas – Dr. Damian, staff at the Tiverton Park Manor, volunteers at Huron Shores Hospice and family – your gestures of kindness will be remembered. Thank you.
A few words from Linda: Klaas was a very unique soul. If you made friends with him, you were friends for life. If you needed advice or help with repairs on machinery, he would not hesitate to help. The farm that was bought for the family became our farm when we got married. It was one of his pride and joys in life, but his family was the first love of his life. Each one of his children, grandchildren or new members to our family could tell you one of their stories involving “Pops”. I had no idea what I was getting into when I said “I do” and married this beautiful man, but it has been the most fulfilling adventure of my life. I will miss him terribly, but I am fortunate to be able to stay in our home, where we spent our entire 53 years together. He is still with me in memories that we made here every day. I feel sad, but I also feel blessed to have shared our life. As Dolly Parton sings in her song, “I will always love you.”
Following Klaas’ request, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine.
Interment Tiverton Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Huron Shores Hospice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
