A local business has donated a significant sum to the Inspiring Our Future campaign’s efforts to renovate the Brussels Morris Grey Community Centre.
The campaign, which is aiming to significantly renovate and upgrade the BMG Community Centre, has received its largest ever donation, coming from J. M. McDonald Lumber and the McDonald Family to the tune of $250,000. The release states that “J. M. McDonald Lumber is a retail lumber and building supply dealer and is part of the Home Hardware network. They’ve been a mainstay in Brussels for many years, originally being founded in 1929.”
The donations toward the Inspiring Our Future campaign will see the BMG Community Centre ” get an expansion of the dressing rooms, creation of an unobstructed heated viewing area, new entrance and foyer, roof replacement and several other modernizations.”
Inspiring Our Future Chair Brian TenPas, Deputy Chair Doug McArter and Campaign Coordinator Roxane Nicholson accepted the donation from Michael McDonald and Jennifer (McDonald) Hundt with Brian saying “the McDonald’s really stepped-up big time here. There was never a doubt that they would be big supporters of the project, but they have truly blown us away with this level of commitment. Hats off to the McDonald family, they have our heartfelt thanks and we really hope the local community supports them as they have supported this community.”
