London police and fire officials are probing the cause of a fire that caused $150,000 damage to a northwest London apartment building Monday morning.
Firefighters were called to 85 Fiddlers Green Rd., near Oxford Street West and Hyde Park Road around 7:30 a.m. The fire was contained to a ground-level unit and was quickly extinguished by fire crews.
Tenants were allowed to return to their units once smoke was ventilated from the building.
One person was treated and released at the scene by paramedics.
The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has been notified about the blaze due to the severity of damage.
Investigators are working to determine the “origin and cause” of the fire, the London Fire Department said in a post to social media.
The fire is one of two firefighters responded to on Monday. The other happened at the former Dairy Queen on Wharncliffe Road near Baseline Road. That fire is being treated as suspicious.
