Police in St. Thomas say a 38-year-old London man accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl has been arrested
The alleged assault took place at the child’s family home in St. Thomas over the weekend.
“The child disclosed the assault to her parents who attended the police station to report the incident,” police said in a statement on Monday.
Police investigated the allegation and issued an arrest warrant for the man for one count each of sexual interference and sexual assault. Police announced on Tuesday that the man was arrested by London police on Monday and transferred to the custody of St. Thomas police. He was later released with a scheduled court date.
The man’s identity has not been released.
