Staff shortages result in reduced hours at St. Marys Memorial Hospital

The emergency department at St. Marys Memorial Hospital is reducing hours temporarily due to staffing issues.

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) announced Thursday evening that starting Saturday, June 11, the emergency department in St. Marys will close at 6 p.m. The hospital will open again on Sunday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and will operate during those hours until June 15, when it will resume regular hours.

Anyone in immediate medical attention should call 911. Paramedics will get you to the nearest Emergency Department for care.

If you require urgent, but not emergency care, several other nearby hospital emergency departments will be open including:

• Stratford General Hospital in Stratford.

• University Hospital or Victoria Hospital in London.

• Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll.
