Voters in the riding of London Fanshawe are sending Teresa Armstrong back to Queen’s Park.
Armstrong was easily re-elected in the riding she has represented since 2011.
She entered her victory party to the song All I Do is Win, claiming “All WE do is win!”

“I’m always shocked when I win,” Armstrong said “This is my fourth election, but it feels always like my first.”
Armstrong has earned more than 50 percent of the riding’s votes in each successive election and was forecasted to take the 2022 election as well, despite a large number of opponents.
London-Fanshawe had nine candidates to choose from in this election:
• Jane Kovarikova – Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario
• Zeba Hashmi – Ontario Liberal Party
• Teresa Armstrong – Ontario New Democratic Party
• Zack Ramsey – Green Party of Ontario
• Doug MacDonald – Ontario Party
• Adriana Medina – New Blue
• Stephen Campbell – None of the Above Direct Democracy Party
• Paul Plumb – Consensus Ontario
• Dave Durnin – Freedom Party
Polls predicted that race would come down to Armstrong of the NDP and Kovarikova of the PC party, while Hashmi of the Liberals and Ramsey of the Greens were expected to finish in third and fourth place respectively.
The results mirrored the projections, with Armstrong receiving nearly 50 percent of the votes.
“It’s four more years of the Progressive Conservative government,” Armstrong said when asked about returning to Queen’s Park. “But that doesn’t sway me from continuing to work really hard and represent the people that put their faith in me and I’m really humbled by that.”
Armstrong said her top priorities remain homelessness, mental health care, dental care, and long term care, but the main priority of the NDP as the official opposition will be to hold the PC party accountable.
“During Question Time is the time to [hold them accountable], during debates is the time, bringing bills forward and push[ing] for them to get out of committee,” she said. Armstrong added that the best way to hold the government to account is to get the public involved so that their voices are heard by the people in power.
Armstrong gave credit to her granddaughters and all young people as the reason she continues to participate in politics. “It’s not about me,” she said “It’s about young people in the future… We really need to pay attention to their voices.”
