SVCA admits “considerable uncertainty” about storm cells in weather forecast this weekend

The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement ahead of what looks to be a wet weekend in most of Midwestern Ontario.

The SVCA says current forecasted precipitation for the weekend is between 15 and 35 millimetres, but localized storm cells may contribute additional amounts both this evening and into Saturday.

The Authority notes that there is “considerable uncertainty about the anticipated location and duration of these storm cells”, and says recreational river users should take extra precautions as higher water levels and faster flows are expected.

The SVCA says they will continue to monitor watershed conditions and provide updates as required.
