For the second time in 24 hours, an Ontario party leader has tested positive for COVID-19.
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath released a statement Thursday morning to say she had tested positive for the virus.
“Like so many others over the last couple of years, I tested positive for COVID-19 this morning. We’ve been doing our best to keep everyone safe, and I’ll keep doing that by staying in isolation,” it said.
Wednesday night, Green Party of Ontario Leader Mike Schreiner said he tested positive.
Horwath’s statement did not say if she is fully vaccinated, but her party did support mandatory vaccination for Members of Provincial Parliament.
Schreiner is fully vaccinated.
Horwath had intended to travel to Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, Sandy Lake First Nation and North Bay in the coming days.
“I was really looking forward to it. We’ll have to make some adjustments, but I’ll continue to connect with people however I can,” she said. “I’ll see you all on Zoom.”
