London father enjoying $100K lotto win

A London father of two has some practical plans for his six-figure lottery win.

Edward Locke of London won the guaranteed $100,000 prize in the March 26 Lotto 6/49 draw. The 42-year-old heavy equipment operator said when he first scanned his ticket he thought he’d won only $100.

“It took me a bit to realize it was a $100,000 win. I was really happy,” Locke said while picking up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “This feels fantastic and makes things easier. It’s like a little weight has been lifted off your shoulders.”

Locke intends to use some of the money to pay down his mortgage and add to an education fund for his children.

The winning ticket was sold at the Shell gas station on Wonderland Road.
