A one time, anonymous donation to the Hanover and District Hospital Foundation will provide two students $10,000 each for their nursing education.
Executive Director, Angela Wainscott, says these grants are available for anyone in school, or who will be going to school, to become a registered nurse practitioner.
“They have to have an address within 50 kilometers of the Hanover and District Hospital. It’s [open to] all ages, but it is for someone that is currently enrolled in school or will be going to school for Registered Nurse Practitioner. It doesn’t matter if it’s someone just starting their education, or if it’s continued education.”
She adds this is a one-time only opportunity.
“We don’t have these funds available all of the time, so it was really, really nice of these specific donors to come in and make this $20,000 donation. It’s something that is really going to benefit, whether you are paying for your education or your living conditions, or any of those sorts of things.”
“We’re very thankful for these donors for making this a possibility and we can’t wait to see the benefit this scholarship will have on the community,” added Wainscott.
Wainscott reminds residents that they still have their annual $1,000 grant for a local student pursuing education in any healthcare field.
