Double check your freezer, Health Canada has issued a recall for a number of ice cream products sold by several brands.
According to a notice posted by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), over a dozen types of ice cream products sold by well-known brands nationally are being recalled due to the possibility of them containing pieces of plastic and metal.
Items included in the recall are:
• Baskin Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream (11.36 L) with an expiration of: Feb. 28, 2023, Mar. 01 and 02, 2023.
• Baskin Robbins Vanilla Ice Cream (946 ml) with an expiration of: Mar. 11, 2023.
• Baskin Robbins Pralines ‘N Cream Ice Cream (946 ml) with an expiration of: Feb. 23 and 24, 2023.
• Baskin Robbins Chocolate Mousse Royale Ice Cream (946 ml) with an expiration of: Feb. 24, 2023.
• Baskin Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream (946 ml) with an expiration of: Mar. 01, 2023.
• Best Buy Vanilla Ice Milk (1.5 L) with an expiration of: Mar. 25 and 26, 2024.
• President’s Choice Loads of Chocolate Caramel Treats Light Ice Cream (1.5 L) with an expiration of: Sep. 22, 2023.
• President’s Choice Ice Cream Shop Elk Crossing Ice Cream (946 ml) with an expiration of: Sep. 09 and 30, 2023, Oct. 01, 2023.
• President’s Choice Ice Cream Shop Rocky Road Ice Cream (946 ml) with an expiration of: Sep. 29 and 30, 2023.
• President’s Choice Ice Cream Shop Vanilla Ice Cream (946 ml) with an expiration of: Sep. 10, 22 and 28, 2023.
• President’s Choice Ice Cream Shop Mint Ice Cream (946 ml) with an expiration of: Sep. 28, 2023.
• President’s Choice Ice Cream Shop Mango Ice Cream (946 ml) with an expiration of: Sep. 29, 2023.
• Scotsburn Joins Farmers Hoof Prints Light Ice Cream (1.5 L) with an expiration of: Mar. 25, 2024.
Those with contaminated ice cream are advised not to consume the product and either toss them away, or take them back to where they were purchased from.
