Teen charged after fake threat evacuates restaurant

A teen from northern Ontario has been charged after a threatening phone call was made to a business in Goderich.

Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a restaurant on Bayfield Road at around 11 a.m. Friday to investigate a malicious message said over the phone. The business was evacuated immediately and cleared by officers.

During the investigation, police learned the call originated from the Longlac area. The Greenstone OPP was contacted, and a young person was located and arrested without incident.

The youth, a 15-year-old from Longlac, has been charged with mischief. He is scheduled to appear in court later this spring.
