MERRELL GEORGE SCHEEL

Merrell George Scheel passed away peacefully at Kincardine Hospital on March 26, 2022, in his 89th year.
Loving husband of Caryl (nee Abray) for 63 years. Devoted father of Bradley and his wife Kelly, Ruthanne and her husband David Powell. Missed by grandchildren, Benjamin (Sarah) and Rachel Scheel and Morgan and Andrew Powell. Fondly remembered by brother-in-law George Abray and his wife Charlene of Atlanta, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents George and Selma Scheel and brother Versal and his wife Esther.
Merrell was a 36-year employee of the former Ontario Hydro and OPG and served at many locations in Transformer, Generating and Nuclear stations throughout Eastern, West Central and Western Regions. He was a 61-year member of the Masonic Lodge, founding member of Cloudbusters Model Club and Kincardine Probus. Merrell enjoyed hunting, bowling, snooker, golf and woodworking.
As a faithful member of his church community, Merrell served on several boards and committees to further his service to the Lord. Cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine on Saturday May 7, 2022,
with Reverend Dan West officiating. Service details will be published on the funeral home web site when confirmed. Interment Kincardine Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
