Police say Londoners kept St. Paddy’s Day festivities relatively tame last Thursday.
On what is usually a rowdy day in the city, most who took part in the celebrations did so respectfully according to London police.
While no significant charges were laid, officers on patrol last week still responded to a number of noise-related calls and complaints about small house parties across the city.
By the numbers, London police responded to a total of 33 noise complaints on St. Patrick’s Day. As a result, 161 charges were laid including:
• 145 charges relating to the liquor licence control act.
• Five noise by-law charges.
• Two public urination charges.
• Two administrative monetary penalty system charges.
• Four weapons-related charges, investigations are ongoing for those charges.
• Three impaired driving-related charges.
Leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, several community agencies including local hospitals, paramedics along with Western University and Fanshawe College worked with London police to help ensure celebrations safe.
