Provincial police in Oxford County are investigating after one person died and five others were injured following a crash northwest of Woodstock Friday afternoon.
The collision happened at around 2:50 p.m. according to Ontario Provincial Police. Emergency crews along with Air ORNGE responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Oxford Road 96 and 37th Line in Zorra Township.
Upon arrival, one of the drivers was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries where they were later pronounced deceased. The passenger of the same vehicle was air lifted to hospital in London and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The second driver, and passengers of that vehicle, were also taken to a nearby hospital by paramedics to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Other details, including the name of the deceased, have not been provided. The area remains closed to traffic while crews work to investigate and clear the scene.
