The Member of Provincial Parliament for Huron-Bruce has announced $7.5-million dollars in funding for long-term care homes in the riding.
In a release, Lisa Thompson says the new funding will be used to increase staffing levels, and will lead to more direct care for residents.
The funding is part of $673-million dollars being provided to long-term care homes across the province, part of a plan by the provincial government to ensure residents receive, on average, four hours of direct care per day by 2024-25.
This follows a similar announcement on Tuesday by MPP Bill Walker, who announced $7.2-million dollars for his riding in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound.
