Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning residents in southwestern Ontario about very strong winds expected on Sunday.
The warning affects Huron, Perth, Grey, Bruce, and Wellington counties.
The national weather agency said a strong southwest wind will develop late Sunday morning or early afternoon as a cold front moves through southern Ontario.
Wind gusts of 80 to 90 kilometres per hour are possible on Sunday. However, thunderstorms that develop along the cold front may bring localized wind gusts in excess of 100 kilometres per hour.
Widespread power outages are also a possibility.
