Close to 70 people took part in a virtual public meeting dealing with the issue of short-term rentals.
Mayor John Grace says the meeting went on for almost two hours and it gave a lot of people the opportunity to provide input.
“Council also took in, I think, 28 different written submissions and we probably had about 18 that actually spoke. It did go on for almost two hours and that was really good, lots of people had an opportunity for input,” explained Grace.
Grace says it’s a hot topic and there are a lot of opinions on either side of the issue.
“The pros and cons are before us, we understand them, we have a better understanding of what the community needs and wants and now we’ll take all that information and make a decision,” added Grace.
Goderich council is expected to revisit the issue in a couple of weeks and deal with a resolution on how to move forward.
