Provincial police in Huron County are investigating after a person died inside a burning home east of Clinton Tuesday afternoon.
According to investigators, emergency crews and firefighters from Central Huron Fire and the Seaforth Fire Department responded to a two-storey home that caught ablaze along Highway 8 at around 2:40 p.m. February 15.
The road was closed between Wildlife Line and Front Road until roughly 1 a.m. Wednesday while crews worked on the fire and conducted a search of the building.
On Thursday, Huron County OPP confirmed a body was located inside the home. Police say efforts to identify the deceased is ongoing.
