Unionized workers at London’s frozen pizza facility have announced intentions to go on strike starting Wednesday.
After a vote on Saturday, unionized members at the Dr. Oetker plant, located at 3100 Nova Court, rejected a final offer put forward by the company and are set to hit the picket line starting at 12:01 a.m. February 16.
According to a statement issued Tuesday afternoon by UFCW Local 175, members gave their negotiating committee a strike mandate of 88 per cent back in November 2021.
“The committee returned to the bargaining table seeking equal increases across the board for the employees at the plant, as well as higher wage increases in each year of the proposed agreement term,” read the statement.

The Dr. Oetker factory, which opened in spring 2014, employs around 251 unionized employees.
