COIVD-19 outbreak on unit at Clinton hospital declared over

A COVID-19 outbreak at the Clinton hospital has been declared over.

Huron Perth Public Health made the call on Saturday.

The outbreak had been declared on the Inpatient Unit on February 3rd after four cases of the virus were identified.

“Upon declaring the outbreak, immediate precautions were implemented, including prevalence testing
in team members and patients,” said Andrew Williams, President & CEO.

In total, two patients acquired the virus while in hospital, along with two team members.

As there have been no further cases associated with this outbreak, the Inpatient Unit has been reopened to admissions and transfers.

Family and Caregiver Presence on the Unit has also been restored. Full guidelines can be found on our website at www.hpha.ca.

“While this outbreak is over, we can’t stress enough the importance of getting your COVID-19 vaccine
and continuing to follow public health measures,” added Williams.
