GBHS expands number of hospital visitors

Grey-Bruce Health Services have expanded the number of visitors allowed to visit patients in their hospital sites.

As of Thursday, the GBHS states in a release that two visitors per inpatient will be allowed at all GBHS hospitals.

Outpatients attending most types of appointments must still come alone due to space limitations, unless a support person is essential.

And all visitors are still required to wear a mask and show government issued photo identification and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination of two doses upon entering any GBHS facility.

All six GBHS Hospitals are included in the announcement; Lion’s Head, Markdale, Meaford, Owen Sound, Southampton and Wiarton.

The release also states that “GBHS recognizes the importance of visitors to the emotional and physical well-being of patients, and we look forward to welcoming visitors into our facilities again. The visitor policy will continue to evolve based on the presence of COVID-19 in our communities.”
