Charges laid against five individuals following drug investigation

Huron County OPP have laid charges against five people following a recent drug investigation.

Police say in a release that on February 5th, members from both the Huron-Perth and Oxford-Brant OPP Community Street Crime Units, alongside the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence located on 12th Street in Vanastra. As a result, police seized quantities of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine. The estimated value of the seized drugs is approximately $4,876.

In addition to the seized drugs, police also seized cell phones, digital scales, drug trafficking materials and cash. A 31 and 52-year-old, both of Central Huron, a 44-year-old from Huron East, a 29-year-old from South Huron and a 37-year-old from North Huron are all facing numerous drug charges, including trafficking and possession. All accused have since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for March 28th at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich to answer to the charges, which have yet to be proven in a court of law.
