The Wellington County OPP is investigating a number of break-ins, in the Mount Forest area.
Over the past two months police have been called about 11 homes that were broken into.
Both the detachment’s OPP Major Crime Unit and Community Street Crime Unit are involved in the investigation.
While police urge people to make sure properties are properly secured, they are also asking residents to be mindful about posting their whereabouts on social media especially when on vacation.
Police say perpetrators can often use the information to know when people are not home.
Another tip, make arrangements for someone to check on your home regularly and to not hesitate to report any suspicious activity in the neighbourhood.
