Local LTC home to receive new beds

The provincial government is adding 32 new long-term care beds to a new home in Hanover.

Several local politicians appeared alongside Minister of Long-Term Care Paul Calandra as he made the announcement Friday, with Rickford saying “When this new long-term care home is completed, it will be a place for 128 local seniors to call home near their friends and families in Hanover.”

The new long-term care home in Hanover is to be called The Village Seniors’ Community.
Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker says “this is great news for Hanover and our entire community. This is a very exciting day. I’m proud to be part of a government that has taken action on Long-Term Care, both locally in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound and across our great province.”
160 new beds were also allocated to the Town of Blue Mountains for a new long-term care home that is proposed to be located at 125 Peel Street in Thornbury.
