A winter storm that continues to dump snow across southwestern Ontario has led to a number of school bus cancellations Monday morning.
School buses for Oxford and Elgin counties and the Red Zone have been cancelled for the day, according to MyBigYellowBus.ca. To see the full list of cancellations click here.
The bus cancellations come as roads are snow-covered and slippery. A snowfall warning remains in effect for Oxford and Elgin with 15 to 25 cm of snow possible by Monday evening. A winter weather travel advisory for London and Middlesex County was also upgraded to a snowfall warning just after 7 a.m.
The Thames Valley and London District Catholic school boards tweeted around 6:30 a.m. that all schools within both boards will remain open.
School vehicles in the City of London and Middlesex County are operating as usual, although could be slightly behind schedule due to snowy conditions.
Monday marks the first day of in-person learning since the winter break for students across the province.
