Residents of South Bruce peninsula can help determine which cultural and recreational amenities will be included in the future community hub in Wiarton, and when they will be built.
The Town of South Bruce Peninsula has announced it is working with consultants to confirm the viability, demand, and priorities to phase new facilities at the future municipal campus.
Residents can attend the Virtual Community Engagement Session on January 18th at 7pm to 8:30pm, virtually via Zoom.

As well, an online survey will be available on January 19, 2022 through the Town’s Community Engagement Platform Open Mic.
“This study is a very important component to the overall project. We have heard a strong desire for an indoor aquatics centre, we’ve heard about pickleball courts, we’ve heard it all! Now we want to make sure we really get our finger on the pulse of the community wants”, says Mayor Janice Jackson.
The outcome of the study is to use evidence-based data to analyze in detail, the recreational and cultural needs of the community. This information will then be used to determine what facilities and phasing are appropriate in the future Community Hub. It also allows the Town to develop a business case for these facilities. The Town wants to ensure that the facilities are financially sustainable in both the short and long term. Council will receive the final study report in March 2022.
