Drivers should prepare for more snow and icy roads ahead of a winter weather advisory issued for Friday.
Environment Canada issued the alert late Thursday evening for areas including London-Middlesex and parts of eastern Lambton County.
Lake effect snow is expected to start coming off Lake Huron beginning overnight Thursday and going into Friday. The weather agency said local snowfall amounts between 7-14 centimetres are possible by Friday evening. Snow squalls are also anticipated with this system.
“Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance,” a statement from Environment Canada read.
The snow is expected to taper off by late Friday afternoon or early evening.
